The 2016 edition of the Transart Triennale, entitled The Imperceptible Self, takes place at Uferstudios, Berlin, from 5-7 August.
Transart Institute, the originator of this utopian-themes programme, offers a full-time international Creative Practice Master of Fine Arts Defree and PhD programme for international artists accredited by Plymouth University in the UK. Founded and run by artists, the institute announces its programme for this year’s triennale, based upon the recognition that graduate artwork requires a different model.
In this sense, they address the questions of how practitioners live and work together in a global community that is branching out further and further into new creative and nomadic realms of possibility. The responses made by artworks address how our relationships mark our lives, and in turn, how the collective work made within spaces imprints on how we recognise ourselves and our identity in flux.
The answer to these questions lies within a three-year period of investigation and interpretation, wherein, artists and researchers follow these questions through exhibitions, performances, publications, screenings, workshops and seminars. In a spirit of nomadic wandering Transart began in Vienna in 2003 and continued on聽in Los Angeles. Being truly international the Transart Institute has now landed in聽Berlin for the first time and this year the Transart Triennale will be among its first聽events.
