The Aesthetica Art Prize 2016 Countdown: Prizes

It’s the last weekend of the  2016 call for submissions. The annual award is a celebration of innovation in art and design from across the world, and each year a selection of works by international artists are showcased in the Aesthetica Art Prize exhibition and featured in the Art Prize anthology. There are four categories: Painting & Drawing, Photography & Digital Art, Sculpture & Three-Dimensional Design, and Video, Installation & Performance.

The competition welcomes innovative projects from both established and emerging artists, and offers two awards: the Main Prize, which was awarded to British painter John Keane for his haunting Fear series, and the Student Prize, given to Japan-based artist Suzanne Mooney for her mesmerising installation Come Away, O… .

Open until 31 August, the competition has an array of goodies up for grabs. Prizes include £5,000 (Main) and £1,000 (Student) courtesy of  a group exhibition hosted by and Aesthetica, editorial coverage in ÈËÆÞÉÙ¸¾×¨Çø, publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology, £250 (Main) and £150 (Student) art supplies vouchers courtesy of , and art books courtesy of .
