We’re marking our last week of submissions with a profile on the work of Frances Bloomfield. Longlisted for聽Grand Domestique Dialogue 3, the Brighton-based artist聽explores the narratives of dreams and imaginary聽scenarios through a variety of found, recycled, and collected materials. Her聽principal concern is in examining the parallel realities that we inhabit: worlds and shadow worlds and the interplay between them.
Part of the artist’s聽Dialogue Domestique series, Grand Domestique Dialogue 3 analyses states of order and chaos in a domestic setting. The 鈥減erfect home鈥 is a powerful contemporary myth; however, it can also play host to emotional turmoil and disturbing conflict. Bloomfield has a聽background in fine art, graphic design and an early interest in theatre, and has exhibited widely across the UK and in Europe. She recently appeared in ‘s group show Static Motion, which ran until 16 August.
