The 12th edition of opens today and runs until 26 February at the Galer铆a de Cristal of CentroCentro Cibeles. Also recognised as Art Madrid麓17, the fair will welcome 50 contemporary galleries, each presenting a wide variety of artists working in various media, across five days. Since its inception, Art Madrid has consolidated itself as a multidisciplinary event, with galleries dedicated to paint, sculpture, graphic work and photography from the 20th century to the present day. New media, such as video-art and site specific projects, are also showcased.
Featured exhibitors in the general programme include , , , , , , , , , , , , and . Alongside this extensive gallery and artist line-up, Art Madrid also hosts a parallel programme of talks, special events and activities. Collectors, curators and art enthusiasts alike will be able to network and speak with participants in attendance.
In 2017, the fair will present a programme entitled #Arteytechnologia that identifies the presence of information and communication technologies in art as well as everyday life. Through a series of talks and panel discussions, this section examines the way in which megadata inhabits aspects of our lives including our language, our way of being, our relationships, and of course, our methods of creating. Sessions include Art post internet led by Cristina Anglada and Marian Garrido; Collecting in New Formats with Enrique del R铆o (WeCollectClub), Sara G.Arjona (Kir Royal Gallery) and Rub茅n Mart铆n de Lucas; and The Visible and the Invisible in Metadata featuring Edurne Herr谩n and Mario Santamar铆a.
