Aesthetica Art Prize alumnus Sara Morawetz’s work is both research and process-driven, often employing durational, repetitious and participatory components – elements akin to a scientific experiment. The latest project, é³Ù²¹±ô´Ç²Ô, is a performative walk along la Méridienne de France. The journey, spanning 1500 km, is an act of  homage to astronomers Jean-Baptiste-Joseph Delambre and Pierre-François-André Méchain, who defined the metre as a “natural” standard of measurement, drawn from the Earth itself. Morawetz’s piece is a study of both the distance and the lengths taken by science.
