Frieze London 2014: Highlights for the 12th Edition

The leading international contemporary art fair, , returns to the heart of the UK鈥檚 capital, London鈥檚 Regent鈥檚 Park, for its 12th edition. Sponsored by and designed by , this autumn鈥檚 fair sees a few changes with the inclusion of two specialist sections: Focus, a celebration and fostering of emerging galleries up to 12 years old, and Live, a haven for performance or participatory-based work. Also new to 2014, is the fair鈥檚 novel allegiance to public space, using themes of contract, texture and tone. Design highlights of the fair鈥檚 bespoke housing include a timber-lined entrance courtyard and dedicated ancillary spaces.

This year鈥檚 event brings together 162 of the world鈥檚 top contemporary galleries in the UK and features exhibitors from 25 countries with exclusive presentations from Martin Creed (, Berlin), Carsten H枚ller (, London), and Will Benedict (, Los Angeles). The fair also features special Frieze commissions: including new work from Cally Spooner for Frieze Film, a major project from Frieze Artist Award winner M茅lanie Matranga, and exciting collaborations from national dance, film and music institutions for Frieze Projects. Throughout the week Frieze’s Sculpture Park selected by Clare Lilley (Director of Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park) is open to visitors, and an array of insightful discussions are on offer at Frieze Talks, with keynote presentations from artist Bruce McLean and best-selling author Jon Ronson. Lastly, joining the fair for its third consecutive year is : a devoted platform for art from the ancient to the modern.
