Frieze Art Fair聽features more than 160 of the world鈥檚 leading galleries, with an opportunity to view and buy art from over 1,000 of today鈥檚 leading artists. As one of the largest events of its kind this year, we list ten gallery highlights from the 2016 event.
Marian Goodman Gallery (C7)
With an artist list that includes Chantal Ackerman, Giovanni Anslemo, John Balderassi, Marcel Broodthaers, Tony Cragg. William Kentridge, Giuseppe Penon, Thomas Struth and Tino Seghal, the booth promises to be filled with inspiring and innovative contemporary works.
Gagosian Gallery (E3)
Gagosian presents a solo exhibition of new work by Edmund de Waal, who is marking his first exhibition with the gallery in London. The work demonstrates the artist’s interests in the nature of everyday objects, constructing narratives around their composition.
Tanya Bonakdar Gallery (E7)
Current shows include聽Slavs and Tatars: Afteur Pasteur,聽whilst their impressive list of artists lists Olafur Eliasson, Charles Long, Lisa Oppenheim and Gillian Wearing.
Hauser & Wirth (D8)
Hosting L鈥檃telier d鈥檃rtistes,聽the gallery provides a tongue-in-cheek examination of the museological practice of reconstructing artist studios, and the tendency to exploit creative licence in the process. Pieces include a geometric sculpture by Bharti Kher, a marble carving by Louise Bourgeois, and a video by Piplotti Rist.
Lisson Gallery (B6)
With locations that include New York, Milan and London, the globe-spanning gallery is currently hosting exhibitions of Ryan Gander, Tony Cragg and a group exhibition that incorporates the 50th anniversary of the gallery in London.
Galerie Perrotin (A18)
Based in New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Seoul and with current exhibitions that include Daniel Arsham and Takashi Murakami, Galerie Perrotin will be attending Frieze Art Fair before travelling to FIAC 2016 in France.
Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac (B8)
Holding a breadth of works by artists such as Cory Arcangle, Georg Baselitz and Antony Gormley, their impressive programme of current and upcoming shows includes Alex Katz: New Landscapes, Robert Mapplethorpe: Objects and Erwin Wurm: Zwielicht.聽
聽Magers (A4, N7)
Located in Berlin and London, Spruth Magers comprises a long list of innovative contemporary artists including John Balderassi, Stephen Shore, Robert Thierren and Ed Ruscha.
White Cube: (D5)
The internationally acclaimed gallery presents a selection of work by their artists including Tracey Emin, Andreas Gursky, Mona Hatoum, Julie Mehretu and Doris Salcedo.
David Zwirner: (B3)
Artists presented include聽Mamma Andersson, Stan Douglas, Marlene Dumas,聽William Eggleston, Yayoi Kusama, Kerry James Marshall, Oscar Murillo, Raymond Pettibon, Neo Rauch聽and聽Bridget Riley.聽Current shows include聽Oscar Murillo聽through patches of corn, wheat and mud聽and Fred Sandback Vertical Constructions.
