Aesthetica Art Prize 2016 Lunchtime Talks: Composing Time & Space with Dr Christina Kolaiti and Desmond Brett, YSJU

The Aesthetica Art Prize free lunchtime talks continue this Thursday from 12.30pm with Composing Time & Space: Photographic & Sculptural Practice.聽Dr Christina Kolaiti, Photography Lecturer, and Desmond Brett, Fine Art Lecturer at York St John University, will use their expertise to explore the photographic and sculptural works exhibited in this year鈥檚 Art Prize Exhibition. The聽talk will assess the potential that these mediums have to instil sentiments of time and space in the viewer.

Taking place at York St Mary’s,聽Composing Time & Space: Photographic & Sculptural Practice聽follows last week’s聽successful double-bill session, which聽featured six finalists from the 2016 award: Liz West, Rachel Ara, David Hochgatterer,聽James Winter, Jennifer Ayala L贸pez’s Studio Crew and Henry Driver. Our dynamic series of lunchtime talks, delivered throughout the months of April and May, are open to the public and free to attend. Beginning at 12.30pm every Thursday, and lasting up to 45 minutes, these sessions are an excellent opportunity to engage with this year’s Art Prize selection and key topics from the contemporary art arena.
