lunchtime talks programme continues this week with Whitney Hintz,聽independent advisor and curator of the . Part of a series of special events accompanying the 2015 art prize exhibition,聽Hintz will be at聽聽on Thursday 14 May to discuss the process of curating a collection in a Q&A with Jenny Alexander, Senior Curator of Art at .
The Hiscox Collection comprises approximately 600 works on display across the company鈥檚 offices in the UK, Europe and USA. In addition to overseeing the collection and advising private clients, Hintz is a board member聽of the Crossrail Arts Programme and Sculpture in the City, an annual outdoor public sculpture exhibition located within the City of London鈥檚 Square Mile. She is also a consultant for the Kenneth Armitage and Eduardo Paolozzi Foundations, and was previously Associate Director at Frith Street Gallery where she worked on projects at Venice Biennale 2009 and Tate Britain 2010.
As a panellist for the Aesthetica Art Prize 2015 Hintz has played an important role in the final stages of the selection process. She has also contributed to this year’s art prize anthology, Future Now, in the form of an essay about the use of art in the working environment. In 2014 the Hiscox Collection聽acquired聽541 d铆as, a photographic series of five portraits by Chilean artist In茅s Molina Navea, who was one of the finalists in last year’s聽Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition.
