In many ways it exists as an ideal, carrying symbolic meaning through its design.鈥 鈥 Andrea Clarke is interested in the spaces that surround us, questioning the confines that they offer.
Clarke hones in on the social elements of architecture, considering its structural elements as a means of transformation, comfort and emotional bonds. Pastel walls and open skies reduce houses to a stark atmosphere of minimalism.
Each image deconstructs the notion of a recognisable landscape through close cropping and drawing attention to the widespread anonymity that dominates contemporary housing. Clarke asks: 鈥淲hat are the consequences of making security so integral to our sense of wellbeing?鈥
