Industry is the central theme of much of Lord’s work, in the form of manufacturing facilities, power stations, building sites and machinery. Reflecting the duality of our relationship with industry, the work is about redefining the 鈥減icturesque鈥 鈥 trying to elicit the same emotional response to images of the built environment that one would associate with traditional landscape art.
