Tangata Whenua (People of the Land)
Tangata Whenua means 鈥減eople of the land鈥 in te reo M膩ori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa, New Zealand. These portraits are exposed directly onto New Zealand leaves using the plants鈥 chlorophyll as a natural alternative process. For the past six years, the artist has been returning to their homeland, to collaboratively document the revival of t膩 moko, traditional M膩ori facial tattoos.
