For Sailor Girl II, Cadwallader鈥檚 point of departure was an image from a box of salad showing a smartly dressed man transfixed by a cherry tomato. The artist became interested in how this man鈥檚 absorbed mental state had been used as a visual metaphor for the freshness and wellbeing promised by the salad.
