The 19th edition of opens in two days at the capital鈥檚 celebrated venue, the Grand Palais. Showcasing both historical and contemporary works, the annual fair welcomes 173 galleries from 34 countries, alongside 27 publishers and specialised art book dealers. This year exhibitors such as Flowers Gallery, Thomas Zander and Bruce Silverstein will present series and large format works in a new sector entitled Prismes, and the famed Salon d鈥橦onneur will host guest聽collector Enea Righi, who will bring major works from one of Italy鈥檚 most important private collections including pieces by Cy Twombly, Nan Goldin, and Hans-Peter Feldmann.
Promoting the fair鈥檚 cultural and social dynamic, the聽Paris Photo Platform聽will reunite key industry figures for a four-day schedule of talks and discussions focusing on three themes: the collection, photography after the crisis, and photography and its relation to the book.聽Part of the Paris Photo Public Programme, Platform is accompanied by a series of special exhibitions including official partner J.P. Morgan鈥檚 On Time, which brings together photographs and film from 13 artists who challenge our perceptions of the past, present and future; official partner Giorgio Armani鈥檚 ACQUA #6 showcasing works that focus on the theme of water in photography; and Leica Camera鈥檚 survey of images by St茅phane Duroy and Paulo Nozolino, organised by Paul Cottin.
In the Main sector, a true frenzy of creativity can be observed in displays by the likes of Ben Brown Fine Arts, Atlas Gallery, Benrubi Gallery, Cheim et Read, David Zwirner, Gagosian, Galerie Lelong, Hamiltons, M+B and Richard Saultoun.聽Meanwhile, in partnership with the Aperture Foundation and in celebration of the continuing narrative of photography, Paris Photo presents the 4th annual聽Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards聽with the support of amana.
