Experimental Dutch designer Joris Laarman and his team apply innovative digital technologies to the design process. An exhibition at Cooper Hewitt​, New York, displays an overview of his practice, including furniture generated by smart algorithms and the world’s first functional 3-D printed bridge. His breakthrough work, the Bone Chair, highlights society’s reciprocal relationship with nature by mimicking the mechanisms of bone growth.
