As part of the Aesthetica Art Prize 2017 Longlist, Stefan Reiss’ site-specific installation, O.T. 87,5 contains wooden beams, strings and a video projection. The animation is based on a digital emitter and a specific colour code. According to several encryption methods, the artist developed a听phonetic colour alphabet, transforming characters of the classic Latin alphabet into a range of different hues referring to the specific sounds created through speech. The result is a visual data file that translates a physical structure.
Creatives from the 2017 Aesthetica Art Prize shortlist and longlist participate in the Future Now Symposium closing event. Meet the Artists invites delegates and guests to hear from this year鈥檚 international line-up of practitioners in an information and networking session. Each artist in attendance will provide a brief introduction to their practice, with a specific focus on their selected Art Prize submission. One-Day or Two-Day Symposium Pass holders will be able to discuss areas of interest and forge new connections with the artists.
Meet the Artists runs 26 May,听16:15 – 17:15, De Grey Foyer, York St John University. For more information or to book onto the session:
