The inspiration behind graphic designer Alicia Latham鈥檚 project, Someone鈥檚 Bad Hair Day, stems from personal experience as a woman of colour with 鈥榓fro鈥 hair 鈥 and the problems and insecurities it presents. The storybook tells the tale of a young child of colour who struggles to create the perfect style for their first day at school. 鈥漈o promote a healthy self-image, I believe it is important to celebrate the natural hair of children of colour from a young age,鈥 says Latham.
