Aperture Foundation Portfolio Prize winner Natalie Krick’s practice questions the notion of a fixed identity. Examining the representation of women in popular culture, the work playfully creates optical illusions that disrupt established norms. The artist’s portfolio includes self-portraits alongside photographs of her mother and sister, challenging the viewer to consider the multilayered nature of the self.
