This comprehensive exhibition of D眉sseldorf-based photographer Axel H眉tte (b.1951) reflects his interest in the perception of the picture, of representation and reality. H眉tte鈥檚 imagery, taken on excursions to various continents, surprises viewers with pictorial structures that place his work beyond the documentary. With water reflections, the dark of the night, but also with vertical or horizontal elements of architecture, he composes atmospheric worlds. His photographs are characterised by a profound stillness, and by an overwhelming sense of loneliness.聽The show brings together 70 large-scale day and night images.
