An Inspiring Collection of New Writing

The recently published聽Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual 2017聽unites 60 international writers, both established an emerging, in an inspiring collection. The book celebrates the very best in contemporary poetry and short fiction, with subject matter ranging from love聽and loss to identity and family. Each work illuminates daily life in a new way, and invokes individual perspectives as well as global themes.

Poetry Winner: Ian M Dudley鈥檚 Fish and Chips
Ian M Dudley lives in Oxford. The poem聽Fish and Chips聽won the 2015 Oxonian Review poetry competition and is part of a sequence of poems called聽Business Class聽about work in a large multinational company. Ian is currently writing poems whose titles all begin with the words 鈥淎 Box of.鈥

Fiction Winner: Christina Sander鈥檚 What Happens At The Edge
Christina Sanders lives in Brighton.聽What Happens at the Edge聽is part of a short story collection on the theme of compromise. Other stories in the collection have been published in the聽Bath Short Story Anthology, Rattle Tales, Litro听补苍诲听Toasted Cheese. Her work explores the borders between desire and eventuality.

The publication invites the reader into original narratives, each piece showcasing the possibility of language. It is a book to return to again and again. Winners and finalists alike demonstrate true innovation through a diversity of images and ideas that collectively stimulate, change and inspire.
