Three weeks remain in the Aesthetica Art Prize 2016 call for entries. Artists are invited to enter the award by 31 August to be in with a chance of winning 拢5,000 courtesy of Hiscox, group exhibition and editorial coverage in 人妻少妇专区. Longlisted artist Marijke de Goey was selected in 2015 with the sculptural piece聽Curly Burly聽(2012).
De Goey’s work is聽in the Dutch tradition of geometric strictness. Lines, squares and cubes are the basis from which the artist聽constructs her sculptures. Between loops of ideas, language and materials, de Goey sets out lines to show the human scale. They describe transparent shapes in space, suggest the illusion of space and cause a visual disorientation.聽The experience of the sculptures occurs within the context of the surrounding space: space is sculpture; sculpture is space. De Goey聽considers minute threads to be just as powerful as monumental structures in the expression of lightness, transparency and subtlety.
A celebration of excellence in art from across the world, the Aesthetica Art Prize聽offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience. The award聽invites artists to submit work into any one of the following four categories: Photographic & Digital Art; Painting & Drawing; Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture, and Video, Installation & Performance.
Prizes聽include 拢5,000 Main Prize courtesy of , 拢1,000 Student Prize courtesy of Hiscox, a group exhibition in partnership with , publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology, editorial in Aesthetica聽(186,000 readership worldwide), art books courtesy of , and art supplies vouchers courtesy of (拢250 for main prize winner; 拢150 for student prize winner).
