On Thursday 21 May Dr James Boaden, Lecturer in History of Art at the , will deliver the fifth and penultimate edition of the Exhibition Lunchtime Talks at . Join Boaden from 12.30pm for a discussion聽on the language of film and the relationship between art and moving image, experimental film culture and visual communications. This special event will be an聽excellent opportunity to discover the high standard of film and video works featured in this year’s prize.
An expert on American art from the mid-20th聽century, Boaden鈥檚 research聽looks at the crossover between experimental film culture and the art world during that period. Boaden聽has a particular interest聽in the legacy of Surrealist practice within American art made at mid-century and in 2008-2009 he聽was the research associate on the project AHRC funded project Queer Surrealism within the Centre for the Study of Surrealism and its Legacies at the University of Manchester.
In 2014, Boaden presented a talk on film as part of last year’s聽Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition events. Hosted by 人妻少妇专区 in partnership with聽, the Aesthetica Art Prize offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience, and further their engagement with the international art world. Now in its eighth year, the Prize is an internationally acclaimed award that recognises excellence in contemporary art from around the world awarding 拢5,000 to the winner, courtesy of .
