Lomo Life: The Future is Analogue
Foreword by Apichatpong Weerasethakul
Thames & Hudson
Since the first Lomography camera was produced in Russia in 1949, there have been over 20 manifestations. From the Pop9 to the Spinner 360掳, these small boxes have kept the joy of film photography alive. So precious are these cameras that when, in 1994, the production of the Lomo LC-A was terminated, members of The Lomography Society flew to St Petersburg to ensure its continuation.
Lomo Life is a set of two books designed to celebrate the two central elements of Lomography: the camera and the photographer. Lomo Life: The Cameras features 599 remarkable lomography photographs and lists the 22 different cameras that allow the photographer to choose from underwater to fisheye shots. Lomo Life: The Story documents the unique Lomography story that has been developed by the community of loyalists.
Placed within a hard-back box, decorated with more Lomography shots, these two books record unexpected angles and surprising moments that enhance our view of life, and reinstate film photography as anything but a dying art form.
